Embodied Carbon Calculation in Landscape Projects
With the increasing importance of a landscape project’s carbon footprint, this webinar focuses on estimating embodied carbon and tools that allow landscape architects to make effective design decisions regarding the material and product specifications.
In landscapes, approximately 75% of emissions come from embodied carbon, generated by the extraction, manufacturing, transportation, and installation of landscape materials. The webinar’s content includes carbon-specific tools, available resources, and workflows, as demonstrated in a project’s case study.
Learning outcome
- Get an overview of Vectorworks Embodied Carbon Calculator, a pre-formatted worksheet that allows landscape architects to estimate the project’s embodied carbon.
- Explore the data difference in Vectorworks, and learn about a custom record format for the carbon calculation, materials, their attributes, and properties, including embodied carbon data.
- Gain knowledge of the existing workflows and the embodied carbon assessment for a project in its early and advanced development stage.
“Minimising carbon use in projects is becoming a mainstream activity on larger projects.” – past attendee
