Day 1.1 Keynote: Beauty and why it matters

Summary

During this session you will get an understanding of ‘beauty’ and that it is more than aesthetics. It will provide a glimpse into the way beauty has and needs to shape public policy and discuss how to make beauty central to the way we make decisions for the future.

Keren qualified as a chartered landscape architect in 1982, and has had a broad career spanning the private, public, and charitable sectors. This includes senior roles at Groundwork, the South East of England Development Agency, and eight years as Director of City Economy at City of Wolver-hampton Council.

 

Speaker: Dame Fiona Reynolds DBE, MA, MPhil, Master of Emmanuel College, Cambridge



Dame Fiona Reynolds is the author of The Fight for Beauty, which draws on her long career in advocacy for conservation, where she led respectively the Council for National Parks (1980-7), CPRE (1987-1998) and the National Trust (2000-2012). Since 2012 she has been Master of Emmanuel College.
