LI NW Landscapes Beyond COP26 – Planit-IE’s B Corp Journey

Summary

Certified B Corporations are a new kind of business, that balance purpose and profit. These businesses are driving a global movement of using business as a force for good.

Planit-IE will be providing a snapshot into what life is like as a certified B Corp, the opportunities it has provided, the challenges they have faced, and all the lessons learnt along the way.

Speakers 

Charles is the Bid and B Corp Co-ordinator at Planit-IE. He played a strong role in the production of Planit’s very first B Corp Impact Report and created Planits action planmapping out their path to becoming Net Zero by 2030. His past experiences and interest for sustainability within the built environment, coupled with an MSc in Environmental and Business Management placed him well to advance Planit’s B Corp Journey.

Pete Swift is proud joint MD and Founding Director of Planit-IE, an 80-strong design collective of Landscape Architects, Urban Designers, Visualisers and Engagement Specialists.  As an accredited B Corp, Planit-IE is committed to harnessing the power of business as a force for good; setting new corporate standards for social, environmental and ethical performance. Pete acts as a B Corp Ambassador, encouraging other purpose-driven businesses to balance Profit with People and Planet, and in doing so, create benefit for all stakeholders. He is a member of the B Corp Climate Collective and lead’s the practice’s contribution to this group’s action on the climate emergency. Pete plays a pivotal role in preparing the practice for transition to Employee Ownership, with each team member taking joint responsibility to work towards a better future. Sharing experience across Planit’s studios and numerous Design and Client Teams, his ongoing mission is to challenge all to take bold and intentional action.
